Industry on Campus (IoC) Initiative
Industry on Campus (IoC) is an initiative introduced by the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) Malaysia to strengthen industry-driven education by bringing the real industrial environment directly into higher education institutions. The initiative promotes closer collaboration between universities and industry, enabling students to gain hands-on experience using actual industrial technologies, facilities, and work practices. Under the Industry on Campus framework, Teaching Factory, Competence Centre, Joint Laboratory, and Makers Space are recognised as official collaborative platforms that support experiential learning, innovation, research, and talent development. At Teaching Factory UTeM, the IoC initiative serves as a bridge between academia and industry, producing highly competent, industry-ready graduates equipped with practical skills that meet current and future workforce demands.
At Teaching Factory UTeM, the Industry on Campus (IoC) initiative is realised through strategic partnerships with industry, providing a collaborative platform for industrial training, professional certification, technology transfer, product development, and applied research to nurture future-ready talents and strengthen university–industry collaboration.
