Teaching Factory UTeM conducted a strategic visit to YC Global House Sdn. Bhd. in Melaka to explore collaboration opportunities in renewable energy technology and industrial technical training. The delegation toured solar battery assembly facilities, R&D spaces, and training centres, fostering discussions on joint innovation and skills development for the TVET ecosystem.
Mastering Drone, You Are Not Alone – International Collaboration with UNISBA

Teaching Factory UTeM, in partnership with Universitas Islam Bandung (UNISBA), Indonesia, will host the “Mastering Drone, You Are Not Alone” program as part of UNISBA’s mobility visit from 29–31 July 2025. The event, fully managed by three groups of TF industrial training students, is designed to apply and showcase the technical drone operation skills learned at TF in a collaborative, real-world setting.
UNISBA Students Experience Hands-On Drone Operation at TF

Nearly 30 students from Universitas Islam Bandung (UNISBA), Indonesia, participated in the “Mastering Drone, You Are Not Alone” program at Teaching Factory UTeM. Part of the “Dronepreneur” approach, the program not only taught participants to operate drones but also introduced the concept of drones as viable income-generating tools. Entirely managed by TF’s industrial training students, the event provided a platform to apply technical drone skills, practice event management, and engage in entrepreneurial thinking.

Exploring CNC Technology Collaboration with Kurnia Al-Rizq

Teaching Factory UTeM held a knowledge-sharing and discussion session with En. Mohamed Azam Omar, Managing Director of Kurnia Al-Rizq, a seasoned manufacturer of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines since 2011. The meeting explored potential collaboration opportunities, focusing on integrating the latest CNC technologies and machining expertise into TF’s training and operational environment. En. Mohamed Azam shared insights from his extensive experience providing CNC Router operation and programming training to various agencies, including correctional facilities.
YC Global House Returns Visit to Teaching Factory UTeM

Teaching Factory UTeM hosted an official return visit from YC Global House Sdn. Bhd., led by Managing Director Mr. Yee Chen Wen, accompanied by two company representatives. The delegation was welcomed by TF’s management team and toured operational areas, including available rental spaces, before engaging in a bilateral discussion. Talks focused on rental offerings and a potential Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at providing direct industrial training opportunities for UTeM students.

Drone Training: Mavic 3 & Matrice 300 RTK at Teaching Factory UTeM

Teaching Factory UTeM conducted a training session on the use of Mavic 3 and Matrice 300 RTK drones on 17 and 18 September 2025 at the Teaching Factory facility. A total of 12 participants attended the session, which focused on technical, operational, and industrial applications of drone technology. This initiative reflects Teaching Factory UTeM’s continuous effort to integrate advanced technologies and enhance innovation through hands-on technical training.

iESF Symposium 2025-Sustained by Innovation: Engineering Our Future for the Next 50 Years

The iESF Symposium 2025 was organized by Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) on 11 October 2025 with the theme “Sustained by Innovation: Engineering Our Future for the Next 50 Years.” The event featured Prof. Dr. Yamaguchi Takashi from Nagaoka University of Technology, Japan, and Prof. Ts. Dr. Azmi Awang Md. Isa, General Manager of Teaching Factory UTeM, as keynote speakers. A total of 40 participants took part in the Idea Pitching and Poster Abstract Competition, showcasing innovative and sustainable engineering ideas. Congratulations to all winners and participants, and appreciation is extended to co-organizers FTKMP, FTKIP, and FKE for their collaboration and support.
Teaching Factory UTeM and ACRATS Group Discuss Strategic Collaboration

On 16 October 2025, Teaching Factory UTeM welcomed Mr. Ryan Woon, representative of ACRATS Group, for a discussion session with the Teaching Factory management team. The meeting focused on potential strategic collaboration in the Composite Workshop Group, emphasizing expertise sharing, industry-based training, and research and development (R&D) opportunities. Plans for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UTeM and ACRATS Group were also discussed to strengthen industry linkages and enhance industry-based learning opportunities for the university community.
