Advanced Aerospace Manufacturing Techniques Apprentice Intake

PT3 Consultant Sdn. Bhd., in collaboration with Teaching Factory UTeM, is seeking apprentices for the “Advanced Aerospace Manufacturing Techniques” program. Conducted in a real industry environment with state-of-the-art facilities, this program equips participants with hands-on aerospace manufacturing skills to prepare them for local and international industry opportunities.
Teaching Factory UTeM Showcased on the International Stage

Teaching Factory UTeM expanded its global visibility when two of its managers represented the university on international platforms. Prof. Madya Ts. Dr. Norfariza Ab Wahab, Quality Control Manager, delivered an online introduction of UTeM and TF to lecturers and students at Nagaoka University of Technology, Japan on 19th July 2025.
Meanwhile, Dr. Isma Addi Jumbri, Marketing & Business Development Manager, showcased TF during a guest lecture at Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) on 15th July 2025 and as a keynote speaker at Universitas Amikom Yogyakarta on 16th July 2025 for the 3rd International Conference on the Association of Indonesia Entrepreneurship Study Program. These engagements strengthened academic-industry networks and promoted TF’s expertise to international collaborators.
Industrial Training Student Registration at Teaching Factory

Strategic Discussion on Teaching Factory’s Future with TNCAA

The Teaching Factory UTeM team, led by Prof. Ts. Dr. Azmi Awang Md. Isa, General Manager, met with Prof. Dr. Zulkifilie Bin Ibrahim, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International), to discuss rental arrangements and the strategic direction of TF. The meeting provided valuable insights and guidance to align TF’s growth with UTeM’s vision and aspirations. This engagement reflects TF’s commitment to continuous improvement and its ambition to elevate operations to greater heights.
Engagement Session with PT3 Aeroskills Students (July 2025 Intake)

The Teaching Factory UTeM team, led by Prof. Ts. Dr. Azmi Awang Md. Isa, welcomed nearly 40 new students from the PT3 Aeroskills Centre July 2025 intake. PT3 Aeroskills Centre, operating within TF UTeM, actively collaborates on training programs and provides industrial training opportunities for UTeM students. During the session, Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Norfariza Binti Ab. Wahab shared insights on TF’s facilities, roles, and further study opportunities at UTeM, while Dr. Isma Addi Jumbri delivered an inspiring talk on cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset for future industry careers.
Presentation and Discussion in Preparation for UNISBA, Indonesia Visit

Teaching Factory UTeM hosted a session featuring presentations from UTeM and Institut Teknologi Sumatera (ITERA) industrial training students on their assigned projects. The first presentation covered their hands-on experience with Tello Drones and simulation training under the guidance of Ts. Dr. Hanizam Hashim, followed by practical demonstrations of their drone control skills. The second presentation by Dr. Isma Addi Jumbri introduced students to the 7P’s of marketing and entrepreneurship which are Product, Price, Place, Promotion, People, Process, and Physical as applicable to their industry roles. The meeting also outlined task assignments for welcoming guests from Universitas Islam Bandung (UNISBA), Indonesia, who will participate in a mobility program and drone training at TF from 29–31 July 2025.

Strengthening Ties: Visit from UNESA & UNIKAMA Delegation to Teaching Factory UTeM

On 28 August 2025, Teaching Factory UTeM welcomed a delegation of 12 visitors from Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) and Universitas Kanjuruhan Malang (UNIKAMA), Indonesia. The visit included a tour of Teaching Factory facilities and a brief stop at PT3 Aeroskills Centre, one of the industry partners operating within the facility. This meaningful engagement fostered knowledge exchange and strengthened academic collaboration between UTeM and the Indonesian higher education institutions. Teaching Factory UTeM extends its appreciation for the visit and looks forward to continued Malaysia–Indonesia partnership and future collaborations.

Leader Program @ Sekolah Kebangsaan Tambak Paya

Teaching Factory UTeM, together with the Faculty of Technology Management and Technopreneurship (FPTT), conducted the LEADER Program – Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Drone & 3D Printing Design with SK Tambak Paya on 23 September 2025. The full-day program engaged 120 primary school students in hands-on activities such as drone exploration and flight simulation, 3D printing and scanning, and leadership and innovation challenges.
This initiative aims not only to introduce students to emerging technologies but also to nurture leadership, teamwork, and entrepreneurial thinking from an early age.

Benchmark Visit to Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia

As part of its efforts to reinforce best practices within the TF UTeM ecosystem, Teaching Factory (TF) UTeM made a benchmarking visit to Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) on 24 September 2025.
The tour started at the UTHM main campus and included stops to the Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering (FKMP) research laboratories, Avitex Solution Sdn. Bhd., and Perpustakaan Tunku Aminah UTHM. Drone applications were highlighted in a briefing by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Zulafif bin Rahim.
Following a meeting with Dr. Juliana binti Abdul Halip and a tour of the production areas and teaching facilities, the delegation traveled to the UTHM Pagoh Branch to investigate the Teaching Factory operations centered on the furniture industry.
By working with Avitex Solution Sdn. Bhd., this benchmarking visit is anticipated to promote strategic collaboration and function as a catalyst for enhancing the Teaching Factory ecosystem at UTeM, especially in drone technology development.
Teaching Factory UTeM Industrial Training Student Appreciation Ceremony

Teaching Factory (TF) UTeM held the Industrial Training Student Appreciation Ceremony at the Teaching Factory UTeM to celebrate students who successfully completed their industrial placements. The ceremony also served to recognize the invaluable contributions of industry partners who have consistently supported TF students’ growth and development.
Before the ceremony, students participated in the Teaching Factory Industrial Simulation Module, the final module marking the completion of their training experience. The module provided hands-on exposure to real industrial operations, further strengthening the technical competencies gained during their placements.

YB Dira Abu Zahar Visits Teaching Factory and SMTC UTeM to Explore TVET Collaboration

On 16 October 2025, Teaching Factory (TF) and Smart Manufacturing Technology Centre (SMTC) UTeM welcomed YB Datuk Khaidhirah Abu Zahar (YB Dira), Melaka State Exco for Women, Family and Community Development. The visit aimed to explore strategic collaboration opportunities between the Melaka State TVET initiatives and local industries to strengthen the technical education ecosystem and ensure a competent local workforce aligned with current market needs. During the session, YB Dira was briefed on TF and SMTC operations and achievements, with discussions focusing on fostering synergy between TVET institutions and industry players.
